Head of Operations

Why this role exists

GenArtiFica is building two things at once. GAiF Community is where African builders ship AI ideas together across five country cohorts (Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, South Africa), with a mobile app, a live platform, and a rewards economy (Gens). GAiF Learning Board is our B2B product: an AI-native academic operating system for smartphone-first, low-bandwidth African universities.

Both still run through the two co-founders. That's the ceiling on how fast either grows. This role removes it, turning strategy into scalable execution so the founders can focus on strategy, product, and partnerships. This is the most senior operating role below the founders. Every team member reports to you.

You'll own

• ✓Team Operations: coordinate engineering, design, community, and marketing. Set the cadence, unblock people, hold delivery.
• ✓Program Delivery: lead pilots and product launches from planning to go-live, through adoption and conversion.
• ✓Execution: ensure cohorts, events, and campaigns run smoothly, on time, without founders in the loop.
• ✓Company Rhythm: build the systems, dashboards, and reporting that give founders clear visibility, and templatize what's ad hoc today.

What success looks like in year one

• ✓Beta launched and held: 50 testers onboarded, 70%+ weekly-active retention.
• ✓First product launches and institutional pilots delivered to go-live, on a clear path to conversion.
• ✓The cadence ships itself: content and events go out every week without founder intervention.
• ✓One dashboard the founders actually run the company from.
• ✓A leveled-up team, and core workflows documented as systems anyone can run.

Who you are

• ✓5 to 8+ years in operations, program or general management, ideally at an early-stage startup, community org, or B2B SaaS company.
• ✓Proven at running distributed teams and turning chaos into repeatable process. You've owned delivery, not just contributed to it.
• ✓People leadership: you've managed a multi-function team and made them measurably better.
• ✓Range: you can hold a warm community operation and a rigorous B2B delivery motion in the same week.
• ✓Deep familiarity with the African tech, startup, innovation-hub, creator, or education ecosystem.
• ✓Fluent with modern tools and genuinely willing to use AI to move faster. We build with AI; our operator should too.
• ✓Based in or relocating to Accra, Ghana, and present in person when it matters.

Compensation

A founding role, structured around outcomes rather than a flat salary: milestone payments (the primary driver, cash tied to defined operational outcomes set jointly in writing on a rolling quarterly basis), equity in GAiF|Ghana Ltd, and a Gens allocation in GAiF's own rewards economy. Designed to evolve toward a base-plus-incentive model as the ventures mature.
